Xerox Invents Reusable Paper

They’ve come up with a type of ink that fades after a few days, allowing you to print temporary items like emails or newspaper articles. I’m going to predict that if this system becomes popular, at least one kid somewhere is going to purposefully submit a stack of blank papers to their teacher and say they must have “accidentally” printed in temporary mode.

Prominent Computer Scientist Doesn’t Use Email

Kevin Kelly discusses Donald Knuth, who doesn’t use any email at all. “Rather than trying to stay on top of things,” He says, “I am trying to get to the bottom of things.” I’m often amused how people are often judged more for the technology they don’t use, rather than the tech they do. I have no car, TV, microwave, or cell phone, and feel that some people might think it’s odd.

Ruben Bolling’s Response is perhaps the most concise criticism to McCain’s offer. The gist - a third of a billion is a nice sum, but the obvious answer is that whatever company comes up with an economical alternative to gasoline, they’re going to strike it rich anyhow.
